Espen Ostbye-Strom

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Espen joined Floodline not long after its formation in 2010. He is originally from Norway, and following his Degree in Economics from Leeds University he worked for 10 years in the City with Scandinavian banks DNB and Danske Bank providing funding/fund-raising advise to Scandinavian and German clients looking to enter the UK equity and bond markets.

Prior to joining Floodline he was part of a UK start-up company who were  the pioneers behind the drive to make flood resilient structures a “standardised” product in the UK, working closely with UK banks, lenders, the construction industry and  building warranty providers. Espen has worked extensively within the industry to develop normal high-street finance packages for flood-resilient homes.

In pioneering the use of flood resilient structures in the UK, Espen’s focus has also been on the adaptability of the planning system to allow for flood resilience to be accepted and normalised, promoting these opportunities to Government departments.

His focus is on the financial and operational aspects of development opportunities and joint venture partners. Over the last 15 years he has been involved with large regeneration projects of water-affected sites and waterfront opportunities in areas such as Liverpool, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Glasgow.
